3:10 to Yuma

3:10 to Yuma is about a rancher Dan Evans (Christian Bale) who is facing hard times with both his career and his family. He crosses paths with Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) who happens to be an outlaw. Ben gets captured, and many of his captors get shot, leaving one slot open to escort Ben Wade to Contention, where he will take the 3:10 train to none other than Yuma. Who will fill this empty slot? If you guessed Dan Evans, you are correct.

Ben Wade and his gang are heartless killers on the surface, but Ben ends up having more sense and compassion than you would expect from a ruthless outlaw. He even has an artistic side.

Dan Evans on the other hand is a rancher who is stuck in some hard times and will do anything to win back the respect of his family by getting the $200 reward for delivery Ben to the 3:10 train.

There are some great scenes which show how ruthless and hard Ben and his men are, but the most action packed part of the movie (the big shootout in the end) is more ridiculous than anything.

I would have preferred a less Hollywood style happy ending. I regret not watching the extras, because there could have been a few that would have changed my opinion of this movie.

Overall I give 3:10 to Yuma a good, not a great.

3 out of 5 stars.

Netflix got this to me in one day and received it in one day.
